Born in 1969, he studied interior design in Brussels where he opened his own studio in 1992. Xavier started his career working with large manufacturers before turning his attention to collectable limited edition design pieces. His designs are identifiable through the visible tension he gives to his objects, and the curves inspired by his innovative (de)formation process of metallic surfaces. Xavier has been included in 50 exhibitions worldwide, including a retrospective of his work in 2007 at the MAC (Musee des Artes Contemporains) in Belgium. His work is in many permanent museum collections including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris. He is a frequent guest lecturer at major art and design institutions and has won many design awards including the Compasso d'Oro. RALPH PUCCI has been exclusively showing Xavier Lust since 2017.
