Since 1986, the artist Ruben Toledo has collaborated with Ralph Pucci on chic mannequins for the fashion world. Now Mr. Toledo has crossed into Mr. Pucci’s other business area: furniture. Their latest project is a group of tables, chairs and a bench (shown).
Mr. Pucci’s company designed and produced them. Then Mr. Toledo added his touch, painting the white-stained oak bench with stylized fashion silhouettes from the 1760s to the 1960s. “I like the permanence and the ephemeral quality of fashion,” Mr. Toledo said. “It’s always there, and it changes.”
The bench, 64 inches long, 18 inches deep and 18 inches high, in an edition of 20, is $18,000.
